Shoot with Maike Kilian Illustration & Grafikdesign in Saarland

Maike Killian, a talented graphic designer, needed new photos for her upcoming book, which is in the final stages of completion. We decided to do a full branding shoot in an artistic retreat, and it was truly an incredible experience.

Maike suggested the beautiful wood house from the 80s, located in the middle of nature in St. Wendel, Saarland. This house, full of books, provided a perfect, inspiring backdrop. The shoot spanned a whole day, beginning with scouting the locations to determine the best times for the shoot.

Maike is a true artist, understanding that creativity is not something that “you do” but allow to happen. With this energy, I felt safe to just create with another artist, have fun, and see what would happen.

The goal of the shoot was to create images that were both elegant and artistic. While we had a guide for the shoot, the place was filled with such creative energy that it all just became so much fun. I loved the entire process of this shoot, from developing the initial ideas to the final execution and delivery of the images. It felt truly creative, and we both contributed significantly to the concept.
